     There are locations today in our own country where a person is arrested for speaking about God, the Bible and Jesus in a public place.  Our “nation of tolerance” is terribly intolerant of those who stand for any accountability before God or focus on biblical morality. When the Utah Legislature was debating the bill to re-criminalize
polygamy, there were two rallies taking place.  Those for polygamy and those against it.  The news media focused exclusively on the pro-polygamists, they did not give equal time to those against it. 
     A fact which was not obvious on the news reports, was that when those against polygamy tried to speak up to defend and explain their position, the pro-polygamists encircled them and jeered at them. What a mockery of freedom of speech and of Utah’s own constitution which states that “polygamy shall be prohibited forever”.  Even as we minister to this culture using God’s words and His prohibition of
polygamy, we are mocked and have even been threatened. 
     But God has called us to minister Biblical truths to polygamists, and that’s what we will do as long as He gives us opportunity and open doors.  We witness people’s hearts and lives change as they learn of Jesus for salvation, not “polygamy for salvation.”  We thank all our prayer and ministry partners for your continued support and  faithfulness and for all those who pray for us and for the polygamists.

Tidbits from MORMON POLYGAMY HISTORY

     Referring to the frequent Mormon declarations that there were fewer deeds of violence in Utah than in other pioneer settlements of equal population, the Salt Lake Tribune of January 25, 1876, said: "It is estimated that no less than 600 murders have been committed by the Mormons, in nearly every case at the instigation of their priestly leaders, during the occupation of the territory. Giving a mean average of 50,000 persons professing that faith in Utah, we have a murder committed every year to every 2500 of population. The same ratio of crime extended to the population of the United States would give 16,000 murders every year."
     Frederick Loba was a prosperous resident of Lausanne, Switzerland ... when, in 1853, some friends called his attention to the Mormons' professions and promises. Loba was induced to believe that all mankind who did not gather in Great Salt Lake Valley would be given over to destruction, and that, not only would his soul be saved by moving there, but that his business opportunities would be greatly advanced. Accordingly he...reached St. Louis in December, 1853, with about $8000 worth of property.  There he was made temporary president of a Mormon church, and there he got his first bad impression of the Mormon brotherhood.
     On the way to Utah his wife died of cholera, leaving six children,  six to twelve years old. Welcomed as all men with property were, he was made Professor of Chemistry in the University, and soon learned many of the church secrets. "These," to quote his own words, "opened my eyes at once, and I saw at a glance the terrible position in which I was placed. I now found myself in the midst of a wicked and degraded people, shut up in the midst of the mountains, with a large family, and deprived of all resources with which to extricate myself. The conviction had been forced upon my mind that Brigham himself was at the bottom of all the clandestine assassinations, plundering of trains, and robbing of mails." The manner, too, in which polygamy was practiced aroused his intense disgust.
     He married as his second wife an English woman ... but the church officers were distrustful of him. He was again and again urged to marry more wives, being assured that with less than three he could not rise to a high place in the church. "This neglect on my part," he explained, "and certain remarks that I made with respect to Brigham's friends, determined the prophet to order my private execution, as I am able to prove by honest and competent witnesses."

POLYGAMY IN THE NEWS

• No information forthcoming about the results of the raid on the Kingston Polygamy Clan. Great information about their group is at:  www.kingstonclan.com
  
• The FBI raided the FLDS polygamists in Arizona, Utah and South Dakota, 11 people were arrested for welfare food stamp fraud and money laundering schemes. We hope they’ll go after their child sexual assaults and trafficking soon.
• The Dept. of Justice sued two FLDS cities for discrimination against non-members-the jury has found them GUILTY.  Sentencing had not yet been announced as we were preparing this newsletter.
• The Utah Legislature prepared a bill to “re-criminalize” polygamy, it passed the house but not the senate and the final vote didn’t take place before they adjourned for the year.  So polygamy is against the law on our books, but wait... it is not against the law on our books.? Go figure!  This is Utah after all.

    In a motion to decrease the penalty for polygamy, one Mormon member of the legislature argued:
    "My great-grandfather did not marry his nieces,  my great-grandfather did not rape 14-year-old girls. My great-grandfather did not send his male children out into the world without a good education. My great-grandfather did not abuse welfare programs."

     Dear Doris, I have watched your shows for over a year and they are very inspirational.  I also enjoy them when Earl is on.  Finally at last  it looks like things are beginning to crumble in the church.  I will never understand why the LDS church continues to uphold their doctrine and “holier than thou” prophets. They have to know that there is no foundation and they can’t lie forever.  We are loving our lives as “Christians”.  It is like a big black cloud has been lifted off my head.  I no longer think  or worry about living polygamy in the here-after again.  Much of what we are now seeing happen is the result of your show because it has opened up people’s eyes and some are finally thinking on their own.  A friend of mine got angry at me when I told her how Joseph Smith betrayed Emma and married teenagers.  She said, “the church has over fifteen million and is growing and there was nothing to stop it.”  Your show has helped many to open their eyes.   May God bless you always.

Is Polygamy Biblical?
(Excerpts from our book)

     God's original plan for redemption of mankind was to create a special group of people through whom He would eventually provide the Messiah.  This Messiah would save people from their sins.  This people from whom the Messiah would be born would become the nation of Israel.
     Abraham was the father of the Israelite nation that God would create for His redemptive purpose.  God promised a child specifically to Abraham and Sarah—one born miraculously in their old age.  But when God's promise wasn't immediately fulfilled, Sarah pushed Hagar into Abraham's arms and his bed - God had nothing to do with this faithless scheme; if anything, it was in contradiction to his plan:   Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar.  And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.  And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife.  And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes, Genesis 16:1-4.
     However, when Hagar got pregnant and lorded it over her mistress, Sarah chased Hagar off. Nevertheless, God met Hagar in the desert and sent her back "to Sarai to submit to her..."  God did not send Hagar back to Abram to submit to him. Wouldn't that be what one would expect if God considered her to be Abram's wife?  No, Hagar was subject to Sarah not Abraham.
     God intervened because of His care and concern for a helpless, pregnant victim of Sarah, and of Abraham "who harkened unto his wife" rather than trust God and His promise.  Later, when Hagar's son Ishmael was older and they were able to care for themselves, God told Abraham to send Hagar and her son away, which he did!!  Genesis 21:8-14.
     Hagar had no children other than Ishmael and she is not recognized as Abraham's wife but always as the bondwoman of Sarah.  I repeat:  the Bible never recognizes Hagar as a legitimate wife of Abraham!  And when Abraham took another wife it was recorded after Sarah’s death.

• One of the ladies we are helping has recently trusted Jesus for her life here and hereafter.  We are all praising god for another saved soul.  thanks to all who pray for those we help.

• Another lady we helped a few years ago, Rachel Kingston, continues to fight for custody of her three little girls.  The judge had given the polygamist husband legal custody of them and he is poisoning their minds with polygamy group doctrine.  Abuse is also evident, yet Rachel gets little or no response from Child Services.  We need an attorney who is willing to fight this pro-polygamist legal system and get those girls back to Rachel.  Please pray.
